If it's your first shot at cooking, and you've invited non-vegans, do us all a favor: PLEASE ORDER from Whole Foods, Wild Oats, your co-op, or a local veg restaurant!  Or you can always go with a Tofurkey and order everything else.  It's just best your first ThanksLiving is a positive experience for all your friends and family.

After requests from guests for more traditional Thanksgiving fare, we're planning to do our own cooking this year. Last year we had our ThanksLiving celebration catered by Eternity Vegetarian Deli. Although the meal far surpassed our expectations, a few didn't appreciate some of the sides — such as the ThanksLiving mac 'n' cheese. So, we're scratching that from our list this year and ensuring we have the essentials: killer mashed potatoes and fresh green bean casserole. Just remember: Nostalgia is an important part of any holiday, and we can have everything but the bird!

Our favorite vegan reciepe Web sites include:
· VegWeb: where people rate, comment and photograph various user-generated reciepes.

· Fatfree Vegan Recipes: another awesome site, but it's best to use fat and sugar to win over new veggie friends!
